A signature cocktail is one of the easiest ways to make your wedding feel like you. It's a conversation starter, a photo moment and a way to simplify your bar at the same time.
Start with your story
The best signature drinks have a reason behind them. Think about the cocktail you ordered on your first date, a trip you took together, your hometowns or a favorite season. A couple from Denver and Chicago might pair a mountain-inspired whiskey drink with a lakefront citrus spritz.
Pick two that balance each other
Most couples choose two drinks, often one for each partner. Aim for contrast so every guest finds a favorite:
- One spirit-forward drink, like an old fashioned or a Manhattan
- One bright, refreshing drink, like a margarita, a gin spritz or a French 75
Think about the season
Summer weddings shine with citrus, berries and bubbles. Fall and winter weddings pair well with apple, ginger, maple and warm spices.
Keep them fast to make
A cocktail with eight ingredients will slow your bar down during the rush. Great signature drinks use three to five ingredients, and many can be partly batched ahead of time.
Give them fun names
Names make drinks memorable. Use your pet's name, an inside joke, your wedding date or a play on your last names. Display them on a sign at the bar.
Offer a mocktail version
A non-alcoholic version of your signature drink makes sure every guest can join the fun. Some recipes adapt with a simple spirit swap; others need real recipe development to taste right, so we'll confirm the approach for your drinks rather than promising a like-for-like substitute.
